The Idealized Conservative on Church & State

After hearing more and more conservatives openly promoting the unity of Church and State (only their Church, or course) I found this quote from one of their favs ironic.

Happy Father's Day!

Y'know, assuming you're not Christian. Anyone accepting the New Testament as the word of God probably shouldn't celebrate.

And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
Matthew 23:9 New International Version

(Strange that priests are called "Father" considering this scripture. Am I missing something?)
